2. Gildan Hammer H000

The Gildan Hammer H000 seems to be an updated version to the Gildan 5000.

At a 6 oz weight, the Gildan Hammer is heavier and softer than the Gildan 5000 which is a 5.3 oz weight, 100% preshrunk cotton. 

This is personally my favorite black t-shirt for men because it has a classic style of fit and the length of the Gildan Hammer H000 is the longest of all of the 5 t-shirts mentioned in this review.

The Gildan Hammer H000 Black t-shirt also has a very soft fabric before and after washing that feels a lot smoother than the Gildan 5000.

Unlike the Gildan 5000 which has a bit more of a stiffer harder cotton feel the Gildan Hammer H000’s softness in the material is super comfortable.

My favorite part of the Gildan Hammer H000 is how it shapes and frames your body. As for the length, we placed it at #2 in our review because of the material when compared to the Alternative 1010.

The reason for this is because the Alternative 1010 black tee has more of an open cotton fabric that seems more breathable than the Gildan Hammer H000 which has a tighter knit fabric that feels like a smoother cotton.

The American Apparel 2001 black t-shirt for men has a classic fit and a deep black color. The shirt fabric has a soft and smooth cotton feel.

The American Apparel 2001W is so comfortable, you can use it as a blanket to sleep in it. You would only need to get a 3XL size to make this happen.

The length is also comparable to the rest of the shirts we reviewed coming in at fourth place in length.

It’s the second lightest weight t-shirt in this review coming in at 4.3 oz. The structure of the American Apparel 2001 is an American standard T shape fit.  

If you like your t-shirts loose or baggy fitting, we would recommend using a size up that’s larger.

In my case, I regularly wear a size medium, but a Large in the American Apparel 2001W would fit a bit looser around the sleeves and torso area for me.

The Comfort Colors 1717 is 100% Cotton and is Garment Dyed which minimizes shrinkage.

By garment-dying, the fabric looks more like a vintage wash tee and comes out softer.
