1. Independent Trading Co. – Heavyweight Hooded Sweatshirt – IND4000

This is the heaviest-weighted hoodie in this article. Coming in at 10oz the Independent Heavyweight IND4000 Hoodie is perfect for those looking for a heavyweight hoodie.

The Independent Heavyweight Hoodie IND4000 comes in 40+ different colors and has 12 unique patterns like forest camo, snow camo, duck camo, and army camo to name just a few. 

The IND4000 has a smooth outer texture that is ideal for printing any color graphic design you have.

Please note: The heather colorways are not made of 100% cotton face yarn. Please do your own testing prior to screen printing.

When printing on our Camo & Houndstooth Colorways it is important that the garment DOES NOT reach 320 Degrees when flashing or drying.

Our Camo & Houndstooth Colorways are a Water Based Print on 100% cotton fabric surface. At 320 degrees you risk ink migration to your print.

To be really safe some printers use a Poly Blocker base, and low-temperature curing inks to stay away from 320 degrees. Please mention this to your printer when using or testing the Independent IND4000 Heather, Camo, and Houndstooth colorways.

The spongiest hoodie of them all. Have you ever worn a hoodie that feels like a sponge?

Well neither have we, but we have found a hoodie that has a slightly spongy feel and is pretty comfortable.

The Bella Canvas 3719 Sponge fleece hoodie has a unique feel and color pallet as well when compared to the rest of the hoodies mentioned.

This is one of my go-to hoodies because of the comfort and colors available that people comment on or react to. Especially because of the unique color selection.

3. J. America – Vintage Zen Fleece Hooded Sweatshirt – 8915

The J. America Fleece Hoodie 8915 is a specialty hoodie that undergoes a variety of processes to create its unique and textured look.

As a result, the finished garments will shed a portion of their darker fibers, becoming noticeably lighter in shade after the initial laundry cycles. 

The raw edges and acid-wash finish gives this hoodie a new but worn-out look.

The outer and inner material feels super soft like a baby’s blanket and is also lightweight.

The J. America 8915 hoodie is also considered a higher-end in-the-blank apparel space.

It is also the most expensive hoodie out of the recommended hoodies in this article.

We would recommend using this hoodie for a higher-end clientele base that can pay a higher price for a premium hoodie like the J. America 8915 Fleece Hoodie.

The Gildan Heavy Blend 18500 is the standard go-to hoodie for most major clothing brands and designers.

One of the many reasons is because of its price when compared to other hoodies. Another reason is for its quality, and the number of colors this hoodie comes in.

And if there is a shortage in sizes or colors, sizes and colors are re-stocked within a month or 2 compared to other brands that are not as popular or sold frequently.

Other not-so-popular brands that don’t sell that well, can become discontinued or take longer than 2-3 months to be re-stocked. For these reasons, we recommend using the Gildan 18500 hoodie for your printing and branding needs.

5. Independent Trading Co. – Unisex Midweight Pigment-Dyed Hooded Sweatshirt – PRM4500

The Independent Unisex Midweight PRM4500 has a classic yet modern look to it and is highly recommended for a higher-end brand of apparel.

The material and fabric used to create the Independent PRM4500 are top-notch and durable for brands that want to use a higher-quality hoodie.

This particular hoodie is a cotton/poly blended garment that is a lightweight hoodie, at 7.5 ounces.

Super comfortable, and a good fit, the inside of the hoodie is lined with jersey /t-shirt material instead of the usual outer hoodie material which makes it a solid printable area.

The outer-facing material has a bit of texture to it but is overall smooth and perfect for printing your designs.

The interior of the Tultex 320 hoodie has a soft fleece cover that keeps you warm and comfortable.

We recommend the Tultex 320 to be the best in pricing and in quality when compared to the other hoodies in this post.

7. JERZEES – NuBlend® Hooded Sweatshirt – 996MR

The JERZEES NuBlend 996MR is the old standby hoodie. This is the one hoodie you can use to exercise in or wear out on a date. It’s your basic classic hoodie.

Dependable, warm and gets the job done when needed.

This hoodie is the most economical in the bunch but is still good quality and a solid hoodie to use when branding your merchandise.

The Jerzees NuBlend 996MR along with the Gildan 18500 are the most purchased hoodies among schools and colleges because of their quality and pricing.

Coming in 50 different colors, the Jerzees NuBlend 996MR is the hoodie that offers the most colors out of all the hoodie brands mentioned in this post.

This hoodie has a standard classic fit and is pre-shrunk so you won’t get any extra shrinkage after washing it.
